The clubs and leaders of the Premier League are preparing to inject more than £ 100 million (110 million) in the Football League, the body responsible for organizing and managing the minor professional leagues in England (Championship, League 1 and League 2 Carling Cup ). This measure aims to shorten the financial differences between the various football leagues Sterling.

Once implemented the measure, the clubs relegated from the Premier League to the Championship will be entitled to four times of financial compensation, the so-called "parachute payments" which are currently paid for two years. This compensation is intended to bridge the gap of income that are subject to the clubs relegated, once in the lower division have difficulty in coping with the financial commitments adopted at the reality of the Premier League.

Solidarity payments
With this action the Premier League will also increase payments for solidarity with the Football League and its 72 member clubs. In the last agreement signed between the two organizations signed in 2007, the Premier League has committed to pay £ 20.6 million (22.8 million) annual payments to the Football League in solidarity.

Of this amount £ 5.4 million (5.9 million Euros) were allocated to developing players, £ 4 million (4.4 million euros) in EU programs and the remaining £ 11.2 million (12.4 million) were distributed to 72 clubs, to which were added to their compensation, (parachute payments) to clubs relegated from the various divisions.

Football League and Npower
These are more good news for the leaders of the Football League who recently signed a new sponsorship contract with energy supplier Npower. This new contract with a duration of three seasons has a total value of £ 21 million (23.2 million Euros), which will be part of the prize money paid to clubs for classification.
