Barcelona and Real Madrid move 791.8 M € in 08/09

The recent clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid, had a crucial importance in financial terms, not only by the importance of clubs, but also for being the confrontation between the two biggest clubs in the world. A review of Crowe Horwath RCS, last season the two clubs' aggregate revenues reached 791.8 million euros, an increase of 209% over the past nine years. The pace of revenue growth of Barcelona in the same period was 15% and 11.8% of Real Madrid, and the two clubs' budgets for 2009/10 provides a consolidated revenue of 827 million Euros, an increase of 4 %.
Despite the depressed situation of the Spanish economy, the two giants of world football continue to increase their revenues, either through new marketing projects, either through new advertising contracts, or revenues from their stadiums.
